MOT Designs Props takes care to inspect all rental items before they leave our shop and again when they are returned. Renters are responsible for returning all props and accompanying packaging in the same condition in which they were received, excluding reasonable wear and tear from normal use.

Damage

The renter is responsible for damage that occurs while an item is in their possession. Damage may include, but is not limited to:

• Broken or chipped items
• Stains or burns
• Excessive scratches or surface damage
• Water or moisture damage
• Missing components or pieces
• Damaged or missing bins, cases, or other packaging
• Any unauthorized alteration or modification

Normal wear and tear is expected with reasonable rental use and will not be considered damage.

MOT Designs Props will assess damage on a case-by-case basis. Depending on the nature and extent of the damage, the renter may be charged for repair or replacement. In cases where an item cannot reasonably be repaired or returned to rentable condition, the renter will generally be responsible for the full replacement value of the item.

Replacement value may be determined by MOT Designs Props based on the cost of replacing the item with the same or a comparable item and may differ from the item's rental price.

Lost or Missing Items

Props, components, bins, packaging, or other materials that are not returned will be considered lost. The renter is responsible for the replacement cost of lost items.

Alterations

Props may not be altered or modified in any way without prior written approval from MOT Designs Props.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Painting
• Cutting
• Gluing
• Drilling
• Taping or applying adhesive materials
• Permanently attaching materials or decorations
• Making any other physical modification to an item

Unauthorized alterations may result in the renter being charged the full replacement value of the affected item.

Inspection and Damage Notification

All props are inspected by MOT Designs Props before each rental and again upon return.

If damage, missing items, or damaged packaging are identified during the return inspection, MOT Designs Props will generally notify the renter the same business day or by the next business day.

Any applicable repair or replacement charges will be invoiced separately to the renter.

Responsibility During the Rental Period

The renter assumes responsibility for all rented items from the time they are picked up or delivered until they are returned to and accepted by MOT Designs Props.

Renters are expected to handle, transport, store, and use all props with reasonable care and to take appropriate precautions to protect them from damage, loss, theft, weather, and other potentially damaging conditions.
